Sye Savoie (they/he) hails from the southeast and loves barbecue, jazz, and cryptids. They have a wide range of interests, including artistic endeavors, unsung history, and environmental justice.

For the last eight years, Sye served as a Marine Corps Officer where they held various roles as a helicopter pilot, force fitness coach, and Wounded Warrior care administrator. Their military career was halted due to Executive Order 14168, and they stepped into an advocacy role for continued transgender military service. In 2025, they were featured on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune, and their NBC 7 interview A Transgender Marine Speaks Out won a GLAAD award for long form journalism. 

They look forward to continuing their service in their new role as the NCRC Gender Advocacy Project coordinator and using their background to further the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights in this critical time.
