David Dollahon is the current group coordinator and manages an email listing of all members and coordinates the monthly reminders of the dinners and RSVPs for the group. We ask that you RSVP your attendance for each monthly dinner so that we can give the Restaurant a headcount.
Potlucks:
From March through October, members of JustUs will host a potluck for the group in their homes. It is usually the 4th Sunday of the month, but the day and times are actually determined by the hosts. The coordinator also handles the email notice and reminders to the group so that the hosts can have a headcount and provide some coordination on the dishes brought by the members. You must attend at least one "Dinner Out" at the Broiler before being added to the Potluck email group.
Saturday morning walks;
Rain or shine, each Saturday morning a group of walkers (and the occasional runner or two) meet at Magee Park in Carlsbad at 9:00 am. Magee park is on the northwest corner of Coast Highway and Beech Avenue. Meeting location is on the south side of the park in front of the Carlsbad Historical Society museum. The walkers depart at 9:05 am and walk 1.5 miles south along the beach and then turn around and head back up Coast Highway to Cafe Elysa by no later than 10:30 (usually closer to 10:00 am). Roundtrip the walk is 3 miles. Cafe Elysa provides our roup with a reserved space and everyone orders and pays for their own brunch. This is a part of the Front Runners and Walkers of San Diego County. Everyone is welcome and just show up if you are interested in attending/walking. No RSVPs or reminders are sent. Walks are led by the spry 83-yo youngster Noel Baggett -- so just ask for Noel when you get to the park.
