The LGBTQ Resource Center, in collaboration with Feeding San Diego (Feeding America), is excited to bring and provide fresh produce and food to our community and others.

We are partnering with local grocery stores throughout San Diego/North County, through the Retail Food Rescue Program that collects quality food from grocers, restaurants, businesses and farms.  Each year in America, roughly 70 billion pounds of good, safe food goes to waste according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Economic Forum.

Since and before the pandemic, statistically, the LGBTQ community are 1.6 times more likely to experience food insecurity and 27% struggle to afford to have access to Healy food options for various reasons.

Rescuing this perfectly edible, whole food means feeding families and taking a large step in protecting our planet and conserving our resources.  Food rescue also means reducing food waste and a top priority for protecting the environment in the US.

In addition, we are committed to safety and sanitation protocols as required by the health and safety department of the National Restaurant Association, in providing proper training to staff and volunteers in the handling of all food.

**All food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis every Friday from 12:00 - 3:00pm.
