Alissa (she/her/hers) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) dedicated to providing affirming, culturally responsive, and strengths-based care—especially for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families.
Raised in North County San Diego, Alissa followed the rainbow to Hawai‘i, where she lived for 15 years, immersed in multiple cultures and the philosophy of aloha—a values system defined by love, compassion, humility, and unity. Her work is shaped by a deep appreciation for diversity and an understanding that each person’s story holds profound meaning and resilience.

Alissa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from National University. She earned certifications in LGBTQ‑Affirmative CBT from the Yale LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative and Integrating Mindfulness into Professional Service through The Whole Person Center.
Alissa has supported adolescents, individuals, and families through a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, gender dysphoria, and trauma from experiences such as sexual and religious trauma, relational wounds, and adverse childhood events. She is committed to creating therapeutic spaces where clients are seen, respected, and empowered to embrace authenticity and cultivate self-acceptance.
