(He/Him/El)

Foodies, Goodies Coordinator & Youth Services Specialist

760-994-1690  Ext:

Alex, a proud Oceanside native born to immigrant parents from Puebla, Mexico, has always been driven by a passion for advocacy and public service. Their journey began at MiraCosta College and deepened at UC Riverside through involvement in MEChA de UCR, where their dedication to uplifting marginalized youth and pushing for systemic change took root.

Witnessing the challenges faced by working-class communities amid gentrification and economic shifts in Oceanside shaped Alex’s commitment to equity and justice. Since returning to North County, they’ve continued this mission—advocating for communities targeted by Big Tobacco and organizing grassroots civic engagement.

In their free time, Alex loves dancing at family gatherings or in downtown San Diego, catching live shows by bands like The Marías, Chicano Batman, and Peso Pluma, and exploring new local coffee shops. A drive along The Strand offers a moment of peace and connection to the ocean—and the community they proudly call home.
