ALIYAH
She/Her
MFT Trainee
Hi, I’m Aliyah (she/her). I’m a Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) trainee with intersecting identities, borned and raised in Southern California. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of California Santa Cruz and I am currently working towards my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counselor from Saybrook University. I feel deeply called to work within my communities during this time of collective stress and uncertainty. I aim to offer care that is affirming, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in connection, curiosity, and compassion.
My work is informed by lived experience navigating chronic pain, queerness, polyamory/non-monogamy and alternative relationship dynamics, religious trauma, and other forms of trauma. I have also supported individuals living with chronic pain using Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and other somatic, body-based approaches. These experiences shape how I listen, how I build trust, and how I understand the relationship between the body, identity, and survival.
My approach is grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory, feminist, decolonial, and liberation-based frameworks. I believe healing happens in relationships, and that much of the pain we carry (physical or emotional) makes sense in the context of what we’ve had to endure. I aim to offer support from a place of deep acknowledgment and the belief that you are not broken. We are navigating broken systems, and we are not meant to do it alone. Healing becomes possible when we feel seen, supported, and connected.
My values: connection over isolation, cultural humility, body-based wisdom, anti-capitalist and gender-affirming care, trans liberation, accessibility, disability justice, earth-based spirituality, and ancestral healing.
